Dear parents, community members, and casual visitors of our website,
Welcome to Islamic Academy of Delaware.
Islamic Academy of Delaware is the product of the Muslim community in Delaware and the realization of its dream. This institution of learning is home to our children. It is an environment that reflects our belief in the oneness of Almighty Allah SWT and the message of the prophet, Muhammad (PBUH).
The message of Islam is one of diversity, justice, hard work and achievement. Therefore, Islamic Academy of Delaware is a diverse community of adults and children. In our school, every child is special. Every child deserves to learn. Children have their way to the future paved before them to assume responsibility and grow as productive leading citizens. In IAD, we stress educational quality, rigor, and critical thinking in all subjects at all grade levels.
The claim of a school of quality and premium education cannot be one of words but of deeds and programs. In IAD, we are all, students and teachers, a community of learners. Our teachers are certified and extensively experienced but continue to inspire and lead by being life learners themselves. In IAD, we are all learners.
As the principal of IAD, I believe in Islamic Education for all. I believe Islamic education must be coupled with rigorous engagement in all sciences. A well balanced, well rounded Muslim character is one prepared to succeed in the here-after through righteousness and integrity; such character must also work to contribute in the building of the community through knowledge and practice of all sciences. This is in conformity and application of Allah’s command:
“But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters."
My dream is always to look forward years from now to see children of our Muslim school community become doctors, lawyers, police officers, and elected officials, leading their community, contributing to the diversity of society and the world for the betterment of mankind. I have seen it in my life done before and I know with the blessings of Allah SWT we can do it again and again.
Let’s make this our dream. Let’s work together to make this dream come true.
Jazakum Allah Khairan
